One Man's England

One Man's England

W.G. Hoskins

1978 BBC London

Recommendation: Previous book

Easy to read in small stages, presumably through being a tie-in with the television series. It is designed as a series of portraits of particular places. This makes it more interesting reading than the author's previous book, the more academic "Making of the English Landscape"(link to follow) which groups places according to their historical background.
